Extraction of Aromatic Plants

FRAGNANCE INDUSTRY

One-day practical workshop on Distillation and Extraction of Aromatic Plants was organized in New Delhi, where prototypes of processing plants / units were exhibited for the benefit of farmers growing aromatic plants and participants from the Fragrance Industry. Chief Guest of this event was Sh. Ramesh K. Pandey, Jt. Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, New Delhi. There were about 100 participants including farmers from far-flung areas of Uttarakhand for attending this workshop.

Industry-Farmers Meet

UTTARAKHAND

Two-days Industry-Farmers Meet involving about 150 participants including 100 farmers from hilly areas of Uttarakhand, actively involved in cultivation of aromatic plants and/or its distillation / extraction was organized by us at the Campus of Centre for Aromatic Plants (CAP), Selaqui, Dehradun. Hon’ble Smt. Amrita Rawat, Minister of Horticulture, Govt. of Uttarakhand was Chief Guest of this Event. Various senior officials of Govt. of Uttarakhand including Sh. Om Prakash, Chief Secretary Horticulture, Govt. of Uttarakhand graced this occasion, where representatives from Fragrance Industry, Scientists from CAP also participated. It was a great success. It facilitated in providing a Forum for the farmers to have interaction with the representatives of Industry.

Entrepreneurship Development

AROMATIC CROPS

One-day Education & Training program for farmers of Uttarakhand on “Entrepreneurship Development Through Cultivation, Distillation & Marketing of Aromatic Crops” was organized by us jointly with Centre for Aromatic Plant (CAP), at their Campus in Selaqui, Dehradun. The Workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Horticulture Minister, Govt. of Uttarakhand. Several senior officials of Uttarakhand Govt. were also present at the Event, which was attended by 120 progressive aromatic farmers from various districts of Uttarakhand and representatives of many Perfumery & Essential Oil Industries.

Aromatherapy 2017

NEW DELHI

We conducted successfully Training Program/Workshop for the representatives of Fragrance Industry on “Challenges & Prospects of Aromatherapy” on 21st January, 2017 at Hotel Atithi Palace, Daryaganj, New Delhi-110002 with non-financial support from Essential Oil Association of India (EOAI), Sugandh Vyapar Sangh, CHEMEXCIL & FFDC, Kannauj, which was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Dr. Shakti V. Shukla, Principal Director FFDC. Ms. Blossom Kochhar, renowned figure and stalwart of Fragrance Industry was Guest of Honour for this Event and also presented a paper at the workshop.

Aroma Bearing Crops

ESSENTIAL OIL INDUSTRY

One-day "National Seminar on Aroma Bearing Crops" was organized jointly with Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Jammu at their Campus on 4th March, 2017. This Seminar was attended by 50 advanced farmers of Jammu region, 25 industrialists from Aroma Industry and 20 scientists of CSIR-IIIM, Jammu, wherein the need was emphasized for interaction between Research institutes, aroma industry and farmers. Presentation made there, inter alia, included creating awareness on Germplasm Resources of Aromatic Crops in Jammu & Kashmir State,

Biotechnology application in aromatic crops and Feasibility of aromatic plants in subtropical and tropical regions. The idea behind the program was to encourage farmers for cultivation of high value aromatic crops for rural prosperity and employment generation. The science and procedure for oil produced after distillation and their Quality analysis using Modern Analytical techniques was also explained to the participants. In second half of the day, two hours discussions were held among participants. The Forum provided the farmers and industrialists an opportunity to share their problems and expectations.

Kisan Mela

LUCKNOW

We participated in yet another Kisan Mela in 2018 as a sponsorer, organized by CSIR, Central Institute of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants at Lucknow. Sh. Giriraj Singh, Hon’ble Minister MSME, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest and addressed the Kisan Mela with the gathering of about 6000 farmers and entrepreneurs from different parts of the country.

Essential Oil Association of India (EOAI)

Essential Oil Association of India (EOAI) organized ‘INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS & EXPO-2018’ with theme of "Navigating Future of Essential Oils" from August, 3 to 5, 2018 at Bangaluru, which was attended by 800 delegates including farmers / growers from India and abroad. Ms. Mariela Cruz Alvarez, Ambassador, Costa Rica was the Chief Guest of International Congress and Mr. Piruz Khambatta, Chairman, Rasna Pvt. Ltd. was Guest of Honour. Special contribution awards and lifetime achievement awards were given to scientists and industrialists for their tremendous contribution in Essential Oil Industries.

Fragrance & Flavours Association of India (FAFAI)

FAFAI organized its 24 th Seminar on the theme 'India-The New Growth Story' from 18 th to 20 th January, 2019 in Kochi (Kerala). The event witnessed a participation of more than 1350 delegates including 140 international delegates. The Expo this year comprised of 148 stalls and 73 national as well as international companies displaying their products. It was an opportunity for delegates to update knowledge and keep themselves abreast with new products and manufacturers. The product displaying has now become one of the focal activities of FAFAI’s Seminars.
